Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA)

Welcome to Chardon’s DORA

What is a DORA?

A Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA) allows patrons 21 and over to purchase an alcoholic beverage from a participating restaurant and enjoy it outdoors within the clearly marked boundaries.  Beverages must be served in an official DORA cup and may only be consumed within the district during DORA days and hours:

The DORA can also be taken into shops and businesses that allow beverages (look for green signs), making it possible to enjoy a shopping experience with your drink in hand.

The City of Chardon DORA

Chardon’s Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA) makes it easy to sip, stroll, and explore the Historic Square District. From Thursday to Saturday evenings, from 4:00–9:00 PM (unless otherwise posted).

The DORA helps support local businesses, attracts visitors, and makes our downtown an even more vibrant destination.

Participating organizations and event organizers have the right to permit or decline DORA beverages during community events and activities. Please check event-specific guidelines before attending.

Look for the signs around the Square:
